This is Dries, and what’s not to love about Dries? His bashful romanticism, his way of digging into past modernisms – notably the Arts and Crafts movement and its research on folklore --, his sensuous love of textured fabrics, his innate aristocracy… Two narrators read excerpts from Paul Auster. Boots click on the wooden runway. Russia, perhaps, because of the fur hats. England, always, with its worn-looking tweeds and Jacquard knits. Ridden through on a vintage Harley Davidson with wool and leather biker pants, and an orchid in the lapel. Dries van Noten brings the same rich and tender expressivity to his menswear collection than to his designs form women.
