Défilés on line MASAKI MATSUSHIMA ...at Couvent des Cordeliers
They are English novel heroes of the 1920’s – Evelyn Waugh or E.M. Forster’s Oxfordians, draped in navy Edwardian jackets on cream trousers, twirling a cane, peering at the world through tortoiseshell glasses: British aristocratic chic hyper-realistically reinterpreted by a Japanese designer. However, when Masaki Matsushima plays with the British Empire’s conservative sartorial codes, it is without an ounce of conservatism. Everything is fresh, humorous, full of dégagé elegance, like the woollen RAF jackets worn on hybridized sarouals-cum-jodhpurs, or fabulous trench capes which will wind their way into feminine wardrobes. Along with a whiff of Matsushima’s new scent, Mat Chocolat eau de parfum. Presse : Laurent Suchel |
