The Number (N)ine streetwear brand, which has cult status in Japan, melds post-Woodstock bandannas and scruffy 90’s grunge plaid. Classic jackets lose their sleeves and puff up into down vests, jean jackets get grafted on lumberjack shirts or long red coyote fur trapper vests. Everything is impeccably proportioned and never looks like a disguise: Tabakiro Miyashita, Number (N)ine’s designer, masterfully combines rebellion and refinement.
