Défilés on line S.T. Dupont … at the Nissim de Camondo Museum American designer Jason Basmajian – formerly with
Calvin Klein and Donna Karan – has been S.T. Dupont’s artistic
director since 2003. The venerable French house, which recently added
21st century accessories – a metal ingot USB key, a monogrammed
DJ case – to its classic lacquered lighter line, presented its menswear
line in the former garage of magnate Nissim de Camondo, whose mansion
is now a Parisian museum. Languid live music, Pierre Hermé macaroons
nibbled in the shade of bamboo trees, were the setting for Basmajian’s
“At the Heart of the South Seas” collection, inspired by former
French colonies, from Indochina to Tahiti. Tropical prints and colours,
cotton voile, “tattoo” pearl embroideries, sarongs…
And for a dressed-up retro-modern dinner, a gorgeous lined jacket woven
with metallic threads. Denyse Beaulieu Presse : MO Communications – Mesh Chhibber/ Olivier Bourgis
