Défilés on line Résistance / RT by Ramdane Touhami ...Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts Ruined at cards, extradited, abducted, spyed on, shipwrecked… If you go by the program notes, Ramdane Touhami’s globe-trotters are headed for mayhem. The boss of “Bureau Politique” (his boutique, 8 rue des Ciseaux, 75006 Paris) deliberately mixes the brutal vocabulary of news headlines with the frivolous considerations of fashion reviews. On paper, the result is quite entertaining: “Frisked by customs officers in a salomon navy tee-shirt in acid-burned cotton on a Pondichéry striped saroual.” Underneath the arches of the Cour des Mûriers, it translates into a bracing show with lots of attitude: sarouals and Berber slippers for everyone, military-militant inspirations, the shock of Palestinian keffiah patterns with Prince of Wales prints, and colours called “Lebanon blue”, “Corfu gray”, “Constantina pink” or “Maquis green”. Less spectacular than the debut collection, shown last winter at the Salle Wagram. But with a better handle on cuts and matches. Denyse Beaulieu Presse : Victoire de Taillac
