Défilés on line Haute Couture
Eté06 Hiver06-07 … Hotel Westin This is strictly a once a year affair. For Italian designer
Maurizio Galante, couture has no seasons and he has chosen to present
both winter and spring at the Espace Chopard of the Hotel Westin –
formerly the Intercontinental. Winter white of a slightly bell-shaped
coat embroidered with delicate, half-chinoiserie, half Gothic tapestry
flowers, blooming to reveal the vivid daffodil yellow of a short frock.
From then on, Galante’s subtle, overheated palette runs from carmine,
cyclamen and cinnamon to pepper, then plunges into the nearly ecclesiastical
purple of a taffeta dress buttoned up to the neck. As a tribute to the
Baroque, a stiff-feathered collar echoes the wing of Bernini’s angel
piercing Saint Theresa’s heart… Photos : Vincent Lappartient
