For the third consecutive season, Maeda Yukinori played on the paradox of motionless nomadism. After the Palais de Tokyo, Cosmic Wonder’s tableaux vivants migrated to the beautiful volumes of the Nikki Diana Marquardt Gallery. The thick coat of snow blanketing the Place des Vosges intensified the effect of this scenography, as bundled visitors whirled around virtual tents – bare pyramidal structures – brought out the purity of rough wool garments and the hieratic stillness of the living statues who bore them.
